야고보서
(James)
And the Scripture was fulfilled / that says,
성경이 이루어졌습니다 / 말하는
“Abraham believed God,
“아브라함은 하나님을 믿었습니다
and it was credited to him / as righteousness,
그리고 그것은 그에게 돌려졌습니다 / 의로움으로
and he was called / God’s friend.
그리고 그는 불리어졌습니다 / 하나님의 친구로
You see / that a person is justified
보십시오 / 사람은 의롭게 됩니다
by what he does
자기가 한 것에 의해서
and not by faith alone.
믿음 하나만 의해서가 아닌
In the same way,
마찬가지로
was not even Rahab, the prostitute considered righteous
창녀 라합 조차도 의롭다고 여겨지지 않았습니까
for what she did
그녀가 한 일에 대해서
when she gave lodging to the spies
스파이들에게 거처를 주었을 때
and sent them off / in a different direction?
그리고 그들을 떠나 보냈을 때 / 다른 방향으로
As the body without the spirit is dead,
영혼이 없는 육체는 죽은 것과 같이
so faith without deeds is dead.
행위가 없는 믿음은 죽은 것입니다
Not many of you should presumed to be teachers, my brothers,
당신들 중 많은 사람들이 감히 선생이 되려고 하지 않는 게 좋겠습니다, 내 형제들이여
because you know / that we who teach
왜냐하면 당신은 알기 때문입니다 / 가르치는 우리가
will be judged more strictly.
더 엄격하게 심판을 받게 될 것을
We all stumble / in many ways.
우리 모두는 엎드러집니다 / 다방면에서
If anyone is never at fault / in what he says,
만약 어떤 사람이 한 번도 실 수 하지 않는다면 / 그가 말하는 것에서
he is a perfect man,
그는 온전한 사람입니다
able to keep his whole body in check.
자기의 온 몸을 억제할 수 있는
When we put bits into the mouths of horses
우리가 재갈을 말들의 입들에 넣을 때
to make them obey us,
그것들을 우리에게 순종하게 만들려고
we can turn the whole animal.
우리는 전체의 동물을 돌릴 수가 있습니다
Or take ships as an example.
혹은 배를 예로 들어봅시다
Although they are so large
그것들이 상당히 크다 할지라도
and are driven by strong winds,
강한 바람에 의해 이끌림을 받습니다
they are steered / by a very small rudder
그것들은 조정됩니다 / 아주 작은 키에 의해서
wherever the pilot wants to go.
어디든지 사공이 가고자 하는 곳으로
