야고보서
(James)
When tempted, / no one should say,
유혹을 받을 때, / 아무도 말하지 않는 게 좋습니다,
“God is tempting me.”
“하나님이 나를 유혹하신다고.”
For God cannot be tempted / by evil,
왜냐하면 하나님은 유혹을 받지 않으시기 때문입니다 / 악에게
nor does he tempt anyone;
어느 누구를 유혹하지도 않으십니다
but each one is tempted
하지만 각 사람은 유혹을 받습니다
when, by his own evil desire,
그럴 때, 악한 욕망에 의해
he is dragged away and enticed.
끌려 다니고 꾀임을 받습니다.
Then after desire has conceived,
욕망이 잉태된 후
it gives birth to sin;
그것은 죄를 낳습니다
and sin, when it is full-grown,
죄가 장성했을 때
gives birth to death.
사망을 낳습니다.
Don’t be deceived, / my dear brothers.
속임을 당하지 마십시오, / 나의 사랑하는 형제들이여.
Every good and perfect gift is from above,
모든 좋고 온전한 선물은 위에서부터 옵니다,
coming down / from the Father of the heavenly lights,
내려 옵니다 / 하늘의 빛들의 아버지께로부터
who does not change / like shifting shadows.
그 분은 변하지 않으십니다 / 변하는 그림자처럼
He chose / to give us birth
그 분은 선택하셨습니다 / 우리를 낳아 주시기로
through the word of the truth,
진리의 말씀을 통하여
that we might be a kind of first fruits
그래서 우리가 첫 열매가 되게 하시려고
of all he created.
그가 창조하신 만물 중
