My dear brothers, / take note of this;
내 사랑하는 형제들이여, / 이것에 유의하십시오
everyone should be quick / to listen,
모든 사람은 빠른 게 좋습니다 / 듣는 데에는
slow to speak / and slow to become angry,
말하는 데는 천천히 하고 / 화를 내는 데는 천천히 하는 게 좋습니다
for man’s anger does not bring about
왜냐하면 사람의 분노는 가져오지 않습니다
the righteous life / that God desires.
의로운 삶을 / 하나님이 원하시는
Therefore, get rid of / all moral filth
그러므로, 없애버리십시오 / 모든 도덕적 쓰레기를
and the evil / that is so prevalent
그리고 그 악을 / 그토록 만연되어있는
and humbly accept / the word planted in you,
겸손히 받아들이십시오 / 당신 안에 심겨져 있는 말씀을
which can save you.
그것이 당신을 구원해 줄 수 있습니다.
Do not merely listen to the word,
단지 말씀을 듣기만 해서
and so deceive yourselves.
여러분 자신을 속이지 마십시오
Do what it says.
그것이 말하는 데로 하십시오
Anyone who listens to the word
말씀을 듣기만 하는 사람은
but does not do / what it says
행하지는 않으면서 / 그것이 말하는 것을
is like a man / who looks at his face in a mirror
사람과 같습니다 / 자기 얼굴을 거울로 바라보는
and, after looking at himself,
그리고 자신을 보고 난 후에
goes away and immediately forgets
떠나 가서 즉시 잊어버리는
what he looks like.
자신이 어떻게 생겼는지를
But the man / who looks intently
하지만 그 사람은 / 열심히 들여다보며
into the perfect law / that gives freedom,
온전한 율법을 / 자유를 가져다 주는
and continues to do this,
그리고 계속해서 이것을 행하고
not forgetting / what he has heard,
잊어버리지 않으면서 / 자신이 들은 것을
but doing it ? / he will be blessed
그것을 행한다면 / 그는 축복을 받을 것입니다
in what he does.
