You have fattened yourselves
여러분은 여러분 자신들을 살찌웠습니다
in the day of slaughter.
도살의 날에
You have condemned
여러분은 정죄하였고
and murdered / innocent men,
죽였습니다 / 죄 없는 사람들을
who were not opposing you.
여러분에게 대항하지 않았던
Be patient, then, brothers,
인내하십시오, 형제들이여
until the Lord's coming.
주님이 오실 때까지
See how the farmer waits
어떻게 농부가 기다리는지 보십시오
for the land to yield / its valuable crop
땅이 산출하는 것을 / 귀중한 수확물을
and how patient he is
그리고 얼마나 참을성이 있는지
for the autumn and spring rains.
가을비와 봄비를 기다리는데 있어서
You too, / be patient and stand firm,
여러분들도 또한 / 참고 굳건히 서십시오
because the Lord's coming is near.
왜냐하면 주님의 오심이 가까이 왔기 때문입니다
Don't grumble against each other, brothers
서로 불평하지 마십시오, 형제들이여
or you will be judged.
그렇지 않으면 여러분은 심판을 받게 될 것입니다.
The Judge is standing at the door!
심판자가 문에 서 계십니다
Brothers, as an example of patience
형제들이여, 인내의 본보기로서
in the face of suffering,
고난의 면전에서
take the prophets
선지자들을 택하십시오
who spoke in the name of the Lord.
주님의 이름으로 말했던
As you know, / we consider blessed
여러분들도 아시다시피 / 우리는 축복받았다고 생각합니다
those who have persevered.
인내한 사람들이
You have heard of Job's perseverance
여러분들은 욥의 인내를 들었습니다
and have seen / what the Lord finally brought about.
그리고 보았습니다 / 무엇을 마침내 주님께서 일으키셨는지
The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
주님은 긍휼과 자비가 충만하신 분입니다.
