40)For what my Father wants / is that all who see the Son

왜냐하면 나의 아버지가 원하시는 것이 / 아들을 보고

 

and believe in him / should have eternal life.

그를 믿는 모든 이들이 / 영생을 얻어야 한다는 것이기 때문이다

 

And I will raise them to life / on the last day.”

나는 그들을 일으켜 살릴 것이다 / 마지막 날에"

 

41)The people started grumbling / about him,

사람들은 수군거리기 시작했다        / 그분에 대하여

 

because he said, / “I am the bread / that came down from heaven.” 

왜냐하면 그분께서 말씀하셨기 때문이다, / “나는 빵이니라 / 하늘로부터 내려온"

 

42)"This man is Jesus, / son of Joseph, / isn’t he?

"이 사람은 예수이다,     / 요셉의 아들,     / 그렇지 않은가?

 

We know his father and mother.

우리는 그의 부모를 알고 있다

 

How, then, does he now say / he came down from heaven?”

그렇다면 어떻게 그가 지금 말하는가 / 자신이 하늘로부터 내려왔다고?"

 

43)"Stop grumbling / among yourselves.

"그만 수군거려라     / 너희끼리

 

44)People cannot come to me

사람들은 내게로 올 수 없다

 

unless the Father who sent me / draws them to me;

나를 보내신 아버지께서           / 그들을 내게로 이끌지 아니하시면;

 

and I will raise them to life / on the last day.

나는 그들을 일으켜 살릴 것이다 / 마지막 날에

Now today, / I want you to turn with me / to Luke’s Gospel,

자 오늘, / 저는 여러분이 저와 함께 펼치시길 원합니다 / 누가복음

 

the eleventh chapter, / the eleventh chapter of Luke’s Gospel,

11장,                  / 누가복음 11장

 

beginning with verse twenty nine.

29절부터 시작합니다

  

And when the people were gathered / thick together,

사람들이 모였을 때                     / 서로 빽빽하게

 

he began to say, / "This is an evil generation:

그분은 말씀하기 시작하셨습니다, / “이 세대는 악한 세대이다:

 

they seek a sign; / and there shall no sign be given it,

그들은 표적을 구한다; / 아무 표적도 그것에게 주어지지 않을 것이다,

 

but the sign of Jonah the prophet.

선지자 요나의 표적 외에는

 

For as Jonah was a sign unto Nineveh,

요나가 니느웨에게 표적이었던 것 같이

 

so shall also the Son of man be / to this generation."

인자도 또한 그러할 것이기 때문이다 / 이 세대에게"
