15) So he made a whip / from cords

그래서 그분은 채찍을 만드셨습니다  / 노끈으로

 

and drove all the animals / out of the Temple,

그리고 모든 동물들을 몰아 내셨습니다 / 성전 밖으로

 

both the sheep and the cattle;

양들과 소들 둘 다

 

he overturned the tables of the moneychangers

그분께서는 환전상들의 상들을 뒤엎으셨고

 

and scattered their coins;

그리고 동전들을 흩뜨리셨습니다.

 

16) and he ordered / those who sold the pigeons,

그리고 그분은 명령하셨습니다 / 비둘기들을 파는 사람들에게,

 

“Take them out of here!

“그것들을 여기서 가지고 나가라!

 

Stop making my Father’s house a marketplace!”

내 아버지의 집을 시장터로 만들지 말라!

 

17) His disciples remembered

그분의 제자들은 기억하였습니다.

 

that the scripture says,

성경이 말한 것을,

 

“My devotion to your house, / O God,

‘당신의 집에 대한 나의 열심이 / 오 하나님

 

burns in me / like a fire.”

내 안에서 타오릅니다 / 불같이

And you are going to be at the judgment.

당신은 심판대에 있게 될 것입니다.

 

And you will have to give an account

그리고 당신은 설명해야만 할 것입니다

 

of every word you ever said,

당신이 지금까지 한 모든 말,

 

of everything you ever did, 

당신이 지금까지 행했던 모든 일,

 

of every thought that you ever had.

당신이 지금까지 품었던 모든 생각들에 대해.

 

But the Bible also teaches 

그러나 성경은 또한 가르치고 있습니다

 

that God is a God of love.

하나님은 사랑의 하나님이라고

 

Now the New Testament / in the Bible

현재 신약은                / 성경에

 

was originally written / in another language.

원래 기록되었습니다     / 다른 언어로

 

It was written / in Greek.

그것은 기록되었습니다 / 그리스어로

 

And Greeks had three words / for love.

그리스어는 세가지 단어들을 가지고 있었습니다 / 사랑에 대해

 

One was Eros

하나는 에로스였는데

 

which meant sensual love.

그것은 관능적인 사랑을 의미했습니다.

 

Another meant friendship love.

다른 하나는 우정의 사랑을 의미했습니다.

 

But when the Bible was written,

그러나 성경이 기록되었을 때,

 

they had to invent a new word.

그들은 새로운 한 단어를 발명해야만 했습니다.

 

A new word / to describe the love of God.

한 새로운 단어 / 하나님의 사랑을 묘사할
